Welcome & What's New
This is what we'll be considering the "official web home" for updates on Femslash.Club projects. I'm so excited to finally be making this a real and expansive community, y'all. I love femslash so much. I love fandom, even if I struggle with what it has become these days---I believe in a fandom where we talk about things that bring us joy, things that we love, and uplift others while doing so. I believe in a fandom that is a supportive and equal community first and foremost. I want to help make it that way.
So: femslashclub. A lot of people say femslash shippers need to shut up and make it ourselves. I find that line of thinking to be deeply annoying, but there you go. I made it myself, a home for femslash fans on the web, a real community. I'm proud of it all. Of course, I still think we deserve a home in wider fandom---to not have to be forced to make our own spaces, to be as welcomed as slash and het shippers are, and I will continue promoting and fighting for that. But it's also very refreshing to have a place catered directly to the things I'm looking for, the kind of people who share interests with me.
We've been needing a place besides Tumblr to store updates for a while, and as Sunset slowly approaches its one year of existence, and as I begin to expand the services I offer, I figured it was finally time. Welcome official femslash.club website. Thank you Bearblog.
Now it's time to look forward. I posted an interest check where I asked the community what services they'd like to see involved in the Femslashiverse. The top results were, in order:
- PHPBB/Old web style forums
- Dreamwidth clone
- Femslash community wiki
- BookWyrm/Goodreads alternative catered to F/F books/etc
- Fediverse/Mastodon instance.
I'm starting school in... ah. A week. So I know I have to limit what I take on. I do plan on working on...
-the Fediverse instance, in the form of Piefed, a reddit-inspired forum software
-the Dreamwidth clone. It is now completely set up, but I am waiting a bit to launch it.
Additionally, recs is now open for users, and I've set up a page that tells you how to get an account on each of the sites.
When I finish these projects, you'll hear from me again.
For now, I want to say THANK YOU. Thank you for making Sunset possible, for posting on the site, for helping with the new server, for supporting me, for being there for me and the rest of the community, for everything. Thank you thank you thank you.
Here's to many more years of Loving Women+ Online.
